Electric Meter Caused Wire Shorting

Electrical Fire in Lake In The Hills

The home pictured is located in Lake in the Hills, IL. It was believed that an electrical surge through the electric company’s meter caused the wires directly behind it to short and caused the fire. Because of the siding being damaged we had to trap and secure the outside of the house. The fire also affected the inside causing smoke to travel through the house in to both the second floor, first floor and basement. We were able to clean all the areas with special sponges so we would not damage the wall. We were able to light the soot off of everything. All of the content were also clean with special attention because the homeowner was concerned about them not smelling when we completed the project. Once the ceiling and trapping was done. The homeowner thanks us in doing a great job.
